Men’s Journal magazine recently announced that Yakima garnered a spot on their list of “Best Places to Live 2010”.  In the publication’s April issue, the Journal cited Yakima for its skiing, fly-fishing, affordable housing, wineries and other amenities. Trout Catch On The Yakima River

This is the third time over the past year that the Yakima Valley has been cited in studies and rankings conducted by national publications.  In Spring of 2009, the region was cited in Money Magazine as having one of the strongest job markets in the nation.  As a follow-up, Yakima was listed in a Business Week list as one of the “Best Places to Start Over”.

Yakima Mayor Micah Cawley was pleased with making the Men’s Journal list:  “We offer so much to people in terms of lifestyle, and our economy is doing relatively well compared to many other parts of the country.  The challenge is getting the word out but I think we are starting to receive the respect and recognition we deserve.”
